This is a clay model of the steps that occur in Paget’s disease. The top is a normal bone. The next one is a Paget’s disease affected bone in the first step. It is when osteoclasts overwork. The third one is osteoblasts working really hard to add more bone to make up for the bone loss from osteoclasts. The end result is a weak, misshapen bone.

  1. The objective covered in this presentation is the stages of bone development and repair. The piece is quite imaginative and artistic. The bones are visually reminiscent of the typical artistic rendition of bones which I quite appreciate. I do believe it goes beyond that which was discussed in class as Paget’s disease was not something that I felt was covered in depth within the classroom. Thank you for your presentation.
