  1. The objective of this project is to present a representation of the condition ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a type of bone spur condition of the spine. AS is considered an incurable auto-immune disorder in which spinal bone cells are destroyed and the spine becomes fused and rigid. There is a representative spider and web to metaphorically present this fusing of the bones. Bone spurs, enthesopathy, are spike-like growths in bones and are often associated with inflammation. Not all types of bone spurs are incurable, though, some respond to treatment. Bone spurs are most likely to occur in someone with a genetic predisposition, in someone prone to autoimmune disorders, and if the body part experiences repeated trauma. Bone spurs typically occur at joints.
