Posted by My STEAM project is on multiple sclerosis and how it relates to the central nervous system. We talked about the nervous system for Unit 6 and I wanted to write about how something that seems relatively simple can be so important when it comes to the nervous system. My media is a drawing comparing a normal nerve to a nerve affected by multiple sclerosis, so the normal nerve has an intact myelin sheath with no exposed fiber while the damaged nerve has a damaged myelin sheath exposing the fiber which results in the message being sent through the nerve being delayed or completely blocked.
