  1. The project covers the neuromuscular junction and the different factors that can interfere with the muscle’s movement. Excitement, fatigue, and illness can all play a role in how nerve endings and muscles interact. The point of focus for this project was the relationship between muscular dystrophy and nerve endings. A drawing was used to describe how the nerve endings are prevented or slowed down from reaching the muscle. Muscular dystrophy was portrayed as the villain impeding the nerve ending (protagonist) from sending information to the muscle. Muscle dystrophy is the deterioration of the muscle through degeneration, collapsing muscle fibers, and muscle fibers splitting. The nerve ending remains intact, but the muscle’s ability to act is greatly decreased. There is currently no treatment that ensures complete recovery, but physical therapy helps individuals live longer and have more active lifestyles.
