  1. Aortic stenosis is narrowing of the aortic valve in the heart and is caused by calcium buildup, rheumatic fever, or present since birth. Aortic stenosis causes the left ventricle to work harder to try and get blood to the rest of the body. The increased workload leads to thickening of the left ventricle. The person will then experience left heart failure. The objectives in the project were interpreting an ECG (also an echocardiogram) and the path of blood flow through the heart and circulatory system. The art project is a case study completed with visuals of a normal heart compared with a heart that has aortic stenosis and an echocardiogram. My only problem is that I couldn’t enlarge the case study enough to read it. However, I thought it was cool to tun a case study into an art project, and the visuals of the different hearts helped me picture the disease.
