I enjoyed viewing Catherine’s STEAM project. It was interesting how we both chose different topics, but they both relate to osteoporosis. It is clear in her painting how she identifies the objectives of knowing the stages of bone development and repair. What I took away from her painting was that depression, and possibly other disorders, can cause osteoporosis to occur in the body. What I also took away from this was that it may be more likely for osteoporosis to cause fractures to occur in the vertebrae and in the legs (femur). I think that using a painting as her media was a great way to show the relevance of depression to osteoporosis, and her choice in colors also reflected a more negative mood, kind of relating it to depression and all of its effects.
