This is where the surgeons will remove 80% of the stomach. The smaller stomach restricts the amount of food that the patient can eat. The last surgery describes Gastric Bypass. This is where the surgeons create a pouch out of the upper stomach and connect it directly to the small intestine. These are bariatric surgeries and will affect how food is passed through the body.
