The pink layer resembles the hypodermis. The red is the dermis, and the top is epidermis. The epidermis is where psoriasis takes place, and is stratified squamous epithelial tissue.

  1. Psoriasis is a disease of the integumentary system and presents itself in the epidermis layer of the skin. It appears in the form of scale or plaque on top of the layers of stratified squamous epithelial tissue that make up the epidermal layer of the integumentary system. This layer lies on top of the dermis and hypodermis layers. These layers are unaffected by psoriasis.
