I chose to do my project on Marfan’s Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that also affects the cardiovascular system. It is typically characterized by a tall and slender build, disproportionately long extremities as well as fingers and toes, abnormal heart rhythms, and other symptoms. I was inspired by Italian violinist Niccolo Paganini who used his disorder to his advantage as the length of his fingers allowed him to achieve string patterns that others were unable to achieve.

  1. I love your piece! The way you used web-like structures to resemble connective tissue is very interesting. Also the incorporation of the DNA helix into the violin to show a piece of the violinist you chose. The hands are really cool as well, how they are dark and coming out at you, it makes your art piece very dramatic and ominous.
