It is not all-inclusive of rhythms or treatment.   They were originally on a darker background, but had to re-print onto a white one for the lighting last minute.

  1. This steam project addresses the following objective: explain how the heart translates an electrical signal to a contraction. Kelly chose to use video game characters to illustrate ventricular fibrillation, and the treatments one can receive for it.

Ventricular fibrillation is a condition where the heart has an irregular heartbeat/electrical impulses. This is caused when the signals being sent from the SA node reach the ventricles after traveling through the atria and instruct the ventricles to quiver instead of contracting/pumping blood out of the right ventricle into the lungs or the left ventricle into the aorta. This results in a person being at risk for a cardiac arrest, fainting, rapid heart beat, or have a difficult time breathing.

A few treatments include CPR, using a defibrillator (represented by the Clocktower on the poster) in an attempt to rest the rhythm of the heart and depolarize the myocardium, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, and epinephrine. Epinephrine is the first drug given to reduce and stabilize ventricular fibrillation (if defibrillators have not been successful) which is represented by the Deku mask because it is “the first mask Link encounters in the game.”
