My project is about how breastfeeding benefits both mother and infant. For baby, breast milk provides the nutrition baby needs to have healthy development. It also contains antibodies that protect baby form viruses and bacteria. It can also reduce the chances of disease later in life for child. Breastfeeding it can improve infants cognitive development. For mother, breastfeeding can help with weight loss. It can also help the uterus contract back to normal size. Oxytocin increases during breastfeeding and encourages uterine contraction and helps with bleeding. Just like baby, breastfeeding can also reduce the chances of mother getting cancer and other diseases. It can also prevent menstruation. Breastfeeding for a long period of time and pause ovulation and menstruation. Sometimes can work as a birth control. Last but not least, breastfeeding saves money and time. Breastfeeding is free of charge and uses little effort to do.

I was assigned to write about Jaysai’s project on breastfeeding. Jaisay’s objective was to explain the benefits of breastfeeding to both baby and mother. Breastfeeding provides a vast array of functions, one of the most interesting of which is providing the mother’s antibodies to the baby in order to help protect against infections. Breastfeeding also provides proper nutrients for the baby and helps the mother lose weight as well as helping the uterus contract. There is also evidence to support breastfeeding preventing cancer.
